Sundays at the Cottage: Natural Inclinations

Sunday, June 28, 2020

I hope you are doing well and enjoying the warmer climate.

We are certainly taking full advantage of the sunshine as it's cold here nearly six months out of the year. So you can imagine what a welcoming sight this time of year is!

As our temperatures are now in the mid-eighties we are able to devote some much-needed attention to the front yard. Everything is looking so green and lush in comparison to the icy bareness of winter. There is a soft dewiness in the air that invites one to walk right out the front door~barefoot and all.

Saphire has been spending many blissful afternoons laying in the cool mulch, just observing her surroundings. She reminds me to slow down and enjoy the present moment and so I linger out here often now, listening to the sounds of the chimes mystic in the air.

The enchanting hydrangeas are just beginning to bloom and there is a sense of revival as a new sun sets everything aglow. So far, we have had many ideal afternoons venturing out for a walk, visits to the lake, and early evening dips in the pool.

I'm looking forward to taking in the long days of summer.

I wonder, what calls you this time of year?
